ACP publishes LifeSupport pro bono

June 23

ACP Custom Media is delighted to support LifeSupport magazine – set to become the essential handbook for Australians living with cancer and the people who love and care for them.

Published in conjunction with The Chris O’Brien Lifehouse at RPA (Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Camperdown, NSW), and supported by cancer groups nationally, LifeSupport will launch on Friday, June 24th.
ACP Custom Media is contributing editorial and production resources to create the annual publication.
With a cover price of $7.95, all profits from the sale of the magazine are being directed to Australian cancer research and patient care.
ACP Custom Media General Manager Sally Wright said LifeSupport aimed to make the journey for millions of Australians who are touched by cancer less complicated and more constructive.

“Cancer will directly affect 1 in 2 Australians during their lives, and impacts on so many others,” Ms Wright said.

“As the largest custom publisher in Australia, ACP Custom Media is ideally placed to bring this practical, comprehensive guide to living with cancer and its consequences to all Australians, and we are proud to support The Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in this endeavour.”

Timothy Dugan, CEO of The Chris O’Brien Lifehouse at RPA, said: “For too many Australians, cancer is a maze of fear and confusion, which they find themselves trying to escape from.

LifeSupport magazine delivers a user-friendly map, with practical expert information and real-life insights from Aussies going through similar experiences.”

LifeSupport is written at a human level and covers everything from making decisions about the available cancer treatments to coping with fatigue, dealing with side effects, handling stress, managing money, negotiating work arrangements, making fertility decisions, being a carer – and much more.

The magazine carries personal stories and case studies that will comfort and inform other cancer sufferers and demonstrate that ‘they are not alone’.

The story behind LifeSupport magazine
Professor Chris O’Brien was a leading cancer specialist who came to national prominence on the reality TV series RPA. He was diagnosed with a brain tumour himself and, after his own long battle, passed away in June 2009.

Sales from LifeSupport magazine will support his vision as the fully integrated cancer resource centre Lifehouse moves towards its 2013 completion date.

LifeSupport magazine will be produced annually to ensure Australians are kept up-to-date with the very latest technical developments and support information.
