Terms and Conditions

1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these terms and conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

2. Entry is open to all residents of Australia who are engaged to be married within 12 months of the promotional period. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.

3. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age, place of residence and/or wedding details) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter’s discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

4. Multiple entries permitted, subject to the following: (a) each entry must be submitted separately and in accordance with entry requirements; and (b) each entry must be substantially unique. Entries will not be returned.

5. Promotion commences at 6:00am AEDST on October 31, 2011 and closes at last mail received on January 31, 2012 (“Promotional Period”). The judging will take place at the Promoter’s premises. The judging will be done by a panel of judges appointed by the Promoter. Judging will begin at 10.00am AEDST on February 7, 2012. The winner will be notified by phone and mail using the contact details provided in their entry.

6. To be eligible to enter, individuals must purchase issue 29 of Cosmopolitan Bride during the Promotional Period. Entrants must fully complete the coupon included in issue 29 of Cosmopolitan Bride and the entry coupon must include their full name, postal address, daytime contact phone number, valid email address, confirmed wedding venue name and address, confirmed wedding date and provide an answer (in 25 words or less) to the question “how do you imagine your dream wedding to look?”.

7. To enter, individuals must then send their fully completed entry by mail in a stamped (or franked) envelope to: “Cosmopolitan Bride Wedding Styling Promotion, Attention: Cosmopolitan Bride, Level 5, 54 Park Street, Sydney, NSW 2000”, so that the entry is received by last mail received on January 31, 2012.

8. Incomplete, illegible and incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid and will not be included in the judging.

9. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each entry will be individually judged based on literary and creative merit of the answer provided to the question. Judges’ decision in relation to all aspects of this promotion is final and binding on all who entered no correspondence will be entered into.

10. All entries submitted become the property of the Promoter. Each entrant warrants to the Promoter that the entry submitted is an original literary work of the entrant that does not infringe the rights of any third parties. If the entry or any part of the information provided to the entrant in relation to the entry was provided by a third party, the entrant warrants that they have obtained the relevant copyright permission from the relevant third party to submit the entry for the purposes of this promotion. Entrants agree to indemnify the Promoter against all claims and costs by third parties arising from a breach of the warranty set out in this condition. Entrants consent to any use of their entry which may otherwise infringe their moral rights pursuant to the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).

11. Entries must not be offensive, defamatory or racist. Any entry which the judges’ deem inappropriate will be invalid.

12. The best entry as determined by the judges will be deemed the prize winner and will win a customised wedding styling package valued at up to $10,000. This prize package will consists of a customised wedding styling package from The Style Salon, an appointment with head stylist Rouba Alamein for one hour on a date determined by the promoter, a site visit to the winner’s chosen wedding venue and a The Style Salon voucher valued at $10,000, redeemable for the winner’s choice of the following list of products and services offered by The Style Salon:
a. The hire of an array of styled furniture and props, stock subject to availability;
b. A styled and luscious mix of fresh flowers for their wedding;
c. The hire of the winner’s choice of chandeliers, brass hurricanes or lace draped lamp shades to decorate the wedding venue;
d. The hire of a romantic linen draped canopy ceremony area within the wedding venue, with seating and fresh flowers to suit, stock subject to availability; and
e. The hire of decorations to style the tables designed to the winner’s liking, which could include luscious fresh flowers, French linen napkins, crystal vases, French lace votives finished with calligraphy place cards and crystal glassware, stock subject to availability.

13. Prize does not include any ancillary costs associated with redeeming the prize. These costs are the responsibility of the winner. Prize valued in Australian dollars.

14. Components of the prize will be made up of existing stock owned by The Style Salon. The Style Salon will not purchase new props and/or decorations etc. exclusively for the winner. Any extra costs above the prize value will be the responsibility of the winner.

15. The Promoter is neither responsible nor liable for any loss or damage suffered in the event that Rouba Alamein has postponed, cancelled, rescheduled or relocated the appointment for any reason whatsoever. Rouba Alamein’s availability to participate in the meeting is subject to her schedule and availability at the time of the arranged appointment. The Promoter makes no guarantees to the availability of Rouba Alamein. The Promoter accepts no responsibility and will not offer any alternative in the event that this element of the prize cannot be offered for any reason.

16. Prize must be redeemed in full within 12 months of winner notification.

17. The Promoter is entitled to use any of the entries submitted in any manner and for any purpose at its absolute discretion, including using the entries for future publications, future broadcasts, promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference or payment or other compensation to the entrant. The Promoter is entitled to amend, edit, select, crop, retouch, add to or delete from any part of the submitted entry.

18. In addition, it is a condition of accepting the prize, that the winner agrees to be interviewed, photographed and filmed at any time during their time before, during and after their wedding date. The acceptance of the prize by the Promoter or their agents for a story or feature on this promotion to be developed and featured in an upcoming issue of Cosmopolitan Bride (or any other form of media it deems suitable) without further remuneration or reference to the winner. Details may feature in Cosmopolitan Bride on a date to be determined by the Promoter. The inclusion of any such feature (including but not limited to creative control of the feature) will remain with the Promoter at all times.
19. Prize must be taken as offered. The prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed as cash. The prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other special offer. Prize winner is advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of their prize. The Style Salon voucher is subject to the terms and conditions stipulated by The Style Salon and as specified on the voucher. The Promoter will not be liable for the voucher if it is lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way.

20. If the winner is unable to take/redeem the prize by the time specified by the Promoter, the winner will forfeit the prize with no compensation or further liability of the Promoter.

21. If the prize (or portion of the prize) is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize (or the portion of the prize) for a prize of equal or greater value.

22. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate

23. Nothing in these terms and conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the states and territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion.

Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by the winner or entrant; (f) redemption of the prize and/or (g) participation in the promotion.

25. By entering the promotion, the entrant consents to receipt of any email regarding the promotion, and other emails which inform the entrant of the Promoter’s other publications, products, services and events and to promote third party goods and services it may be interested in.

26. The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with this promotion is governed by the Privacy Notice (see “contents” page of issue 29 of Cosmopolitan Bride for location in each issue). The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers and prize suppliers. Entry is conditional on providing this information. The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to the Promoter.
